Love/Hate - Wasted in America

Die ersten beiden “Love/Hate” Alben gehören wirklich zum besten was der Sleaze Rock zu bieten hat. Nach dem fetten Debut „Blackout in the Red Room“ legten die kiffenden Yankees 1992 mit „Wasted in America“ einen mehr als würdigen Nachfolger ab. Erster Garant für heroische Party Stimmung ist natürlich die fetzige Stimme von „Jizzy Pearl“und natürlich die göttlichen Melodien. Die Platte wird gleich durch den Titeltrack „Wasted in America“ schon mal amtlich eröffnet, sicherlich einer der stärksten Songs der Band. Nicht weniger geil ist aber „Spit“ und das fabelhafte „Miss America“. Wie auf jedem „Love/Hate“ Record hat es aber auch hier einige mittelmässige Titel, „Yucca Man“, „Tranquiler“ und „Happy Hour“ sind nicht schlecht, aber nicht wirklich der Bringer. Dafür liefern uns die verrückten Amis mit „Don´t Fuck with me“ eine geile und vom Text her amüsante Ballade. Der Höhepunkt von „Wasted in America“ kommt ganz am Schluss: „Evil Twin“ ist wohl einer der geilsten Sleaze Metal Songs allgemein, „Jizzy“ schneidet mit seiner Chainsaw Stimme wie durch Butter, Party ohne Ende und ein Great Feeling of fucking Hollywood Sleaze. Auch mit vier Lückenfüller bleibt dieses Album brand heiss und gehört in jede gute Plattensammlung. „Wasted in America“ ist das letzte Album das noch einigermassen Erfolg hatte, die restlichen Longplayer waren wirklich nicht schlecht, aber Mitte der 90er galt der Sleaze als tot, wer hätte damals an einen Recall dieser Zeit gedacht?

The highlight of „Wasted in America“ comes quite in the end: Generally, „Evil Twin“ is one of the acest sleaze metal songs, „Jizzy“ cuts with his chainsaw voice like through butter, party without end and a great feeling of fucking Hollywood sleaze. The album stays brand hot with four fillers and belongs in every good disc collection too. „Wasted in America“ was the last album, which had success in some measure, the remaining longplayers weren’t really bad, but sleaze be valued as dead in the middle of the 90’s, who would have thought in a recall in this time?
