Meliah Rage - Barely Human

“Meliah Rage” sind eine Band, die trotz teilweise sehr guter Alben, nie den gebührenden Erfolg feiern konnten. Mit „Barely Human“ erscheint am 27.9.2004 ein Longplayer der an die Stärken der Band anknüpfen kann. „Heavy Metal“ mit einem etwas düsteren Touch, was sicherlich auch an Sänger „Mike Munro“ liegt. Der Opener „Hate Machine“ geht schon mal schön ab, brechende Gitarren Arbeit von „Anthony“ und „Jim“. Ein erstes Mal entzückt mein Herz aber vor Freude beim genialen Titeltrack „Barely Human“ ein Bombastischer Track, der mit einem Killer Refrain aufwartet. Als nächstes steht „Ungodly“ auf dem Plan, eine fabelhafte Metal Halbballade die zu Beginn akustisch beginnt und mit dem Chorus härter wird. Klasse, erinnert mich irgendwie an die Halbballaden von „Testament“. Der Gesang von „Mike Munro“ gefällt mir hier bei ausgezeichnet. Nach dieser Verschnaufpause, brettern „Meliah Rage“ mit „Wrong place, right Time“ mächtig ab, ein schneller Song der wiederum mit einem innovativen Refrain ausgestattet ist. Man sollte noch erwähnen das dies eine Doppel CD ist, zum selben Preis befindet sich als Bonus, das neu abgemischte Demo von „Unfinished Business“ auf der CD Nummer zwei – Wer da nicht zugreift ist wirklich selber Schuld. Das etwas Thrashige „Bloodbath“ überzeugt mich erneut von dieser Band, die hier einen toller Longplayer auf den Markt bringen. Das Album wird einem Heavy/Power Metal Fan genau so gut gefallen wie einem Speed/Thrash Freak – Langweilig wird es auf „Barely Human“ nie, mal hart und schnell, dann wie „Hell Song“ gefühlsvoll, Klasse. Das schnelle „Motor Psycho“ schliesst dieses tolle Album gebührend ab. Fazit: Meliah Rage geben hier ein Comeback Album zum Besten, das es wahrlich „IN SICH“ hat und wie schon gesagt etwas für jeden „Metal“ Fan beinhaltet. Zum Abschluss gibt es noch zu sagen das auf der Bonus CD „Unfinished Business“ der Drummer von „Godsmack“ die Drumsticks um sich wirft.
