Reingold - Universe

Reingold ist ein fantastischer Bassspieler, Produzent und Songwriter, der seine Karriere in der lokalen Hardrockband WIRE aus seiner Heimatstadt, im mittleren Westen von Schweden, begann. Er studierte später für 4 Jahre Musik an der Malmö Musikakademie. 1994 trat er in die Band namens The Downtown Clowns ein. 1995 nahm Jonas ein ganzes Bass-Jazz-Album, mit dem schwedischen Bassorchester auf, dass die lebende Legende, den dänischen Bassspieler Niels Henning Orsted Pedersen charakterisierte. In 1996 arbeitete er mit Benny Andersson und Björn Ulveus von ABBA an ihrem Produkt „Kristina From Duvumala“. Jonas gründete die Band Midnight Sun zusammen mit Pete Sandberg und Anders „Theo“ Theander in 1996. Wegen seiner einzigartigen Talente in verschiedenen Genres ist er eine hoch geachtete Person/Bassist für Aufnahmen und auch auf Touren. Sein Respekt als Produzent, hatte durch die Jahre hinweg zur Folge, nach vielen Angeboten für verschiedene Alben, geführt. Während Pete damit beschäftigt war sein Soloalbum- "Push" 1998 zu machen, wandte Jonas sich an einige alte und neue Freunde, um etwas von seinem neuen Material zu spielen. Dies führte dann zur Band REINGOLD und die Aufnahmen für ihr Debütalbum „Universe“ die in spät ´98 begannen. Jonas ist natürlich immer noch ein Mitglied in Midnight Sun, aber er fühlte, dass er mit einigen anderen Leuten mit diesen Liedern arbeiten wollte. Jonas wählte den brillianten Sänger Göran Edman und fügte Jaime Salazar am Schlagzeug und Marcus Jacobsson an der Gitarre als feste Mitglieder in die Band, aber bevorzugte auch „Gäste“ wie Peter Espinoza (Majestic, Nasty Idols), Chris Palm (Midnight Sun) und Hempo Hildèn (Midnight Sun) zu haben. Marcus Jacobsson ist ein alter Freund von Jonas seit er zurückdenken kann und ist ein Gitarrist, eine gemietete "Waffe", die auf mehreren Produktionen erschienen ist, in allen Genres. Jaime macht immer noch mit seiner früheren Bands, Bad Habit und Flower Kings weiter, hat aber kein Problem, diese drei ziemlich verschiedenen Bands zu kombinieren, die alle bekannt für ihre glänzenden Musiker sind. Göran hat eine grossartige Karriere mit Künstlern wie Y.J Malmsteen, Brazon Abbot, Glory und jetzt den Johanssons Brüdern hinter sich, um nur einige zu nennen. Reingolds „Universe“ ist ein tolles album mit erstaunlicher Performance und genug guter Hardrocksongs. Besonders herauszuheben wäre für mich „Glorified“, „Overloaded“ und „Sacrifice and Suffering“. Hier fühlt man richtig die Einflüsse von Malmsteen, Midnight Sun und den anderen genannten Bands. Aber auch die traurige Ballade „No More I Love You“ haben sie sehr gut umgesetzt. Reingolds Album hat für jeden was zu bieten. Es ist ein tolle Mischung aus Rock, Progressive, Melancholie und Frische. Alleine wegen den bekannten Bands würde ich schon das Album empfehlen.

Jonas Reingold is a fantastic bass player, producer and songwriter who started his career in local hardrock acts such as WIRE in his home town in the midwest of Sweden. He later studied music at the Malmö Academy Of Music for 4 years. In 1994 he joined a band called The Downtown Clowns. In 1995 Jonas recorded an all bass jazz album with Sweden Bass Orchestra, featuring living legend Danish jazz bass playeer Niels Henning-Orsted Pedersen. In 1996 he worked with Benny Andersson and Björn Ulveus of ABBA on their production "Kristina From Duvumala". Jonas formed the band MIDNIGHT SUN together with Pete Sandberg and Anders "Theo" Theander in 1996. Because of his unique skills in different genres he is a highly esteemed session bassist for recordings and touring as well. His respect as a producer has resulted in many offers for various albums through the years. Since Pete was busy doing his solo album "Push" during 1998, Jonas contacted some old and new friends to play some of his new material. This leads to the band REINGOLD and the recordings for their debut album „Universe“ started in late '98. Jonas is of course still a member in MIDNIGHT SUN but feels that he wanted to work with some other people on these songs. Jonas chose the brilliant vocalist Göran Edman and put Jaime Salazar (dr) and Marcus Jacobsson (git) as permanent members in the band but also prefer to have "guests" as well; Peter Espinoza (Majestic, Nasty Idols), Chris Palm (Midnight Sun) and Hempo Hildèn (Midnight Sun). Marcus Jacobsson is an old friend of Jonas since way back and is a session guitarist, a hired "gun", that has appeared on several productions in all genres. Jaime is still with his earlier band, BAD HABIT and FLOWER KINGS but has no problem combining these three quite different bands which are all known for their brilliant musicians. Göran has an excellent career with artists like Y.J Malmsteen, Brazen Abbot, Glory and now the Johansson Brothers behind itself to mention only a few. REINGOLD "Universe" is a great album with astonishing performances and plenty of good hardrock songs. To be lifted out particularly had for me „Glorified“, „Overloaded“ and „Sacrifice and Suffering“. Here you feel the influences of Malmsteen, Midnight Sun and the mentioned bands. But also the sad ballad „No More I Love You“ they have converted very well. Reingolds album has something to offer for everybody. It is a terrific mixture of rock, progressive, melancholy and freshness. Alone because of the known bands I would already recommend the album.
