We „European“ are at the moment quite much represented in the metal scene. I want to introduce a band from France. Snake Eye was founded in Paris in 2002 and their very first demo found some attention all over France, what at least concerns of the melodicrock. Like this also is, Brennus music decided to release in 2003 their first album „Wild Senses“. Obviously the band is very strongly impressed by the 80s. Everything from the snake cover, their appearance and the typic gear let us think of the long forgotten Headbanger days back. How it seems was no place for keyboards on the plate either because of the two guitars, bass, drums and vocals rocks the album totally. Their Opener „Countdown To Midnight“ and „Downtown“ are highlights and with their terrific refrains and glaring guitar reef earwigs to always listen again. On „Restless“, „Tears In My Eyes“, „Now“ , „Hope“ and „Make My Day“ they don't economize for difficult reefs and strange sounds. The only ballads „Faith“ are a heavenly guitar sound and choir accompanying. Kim Wilds „Kids In America“ is badly put here in particular because the original sounds simply better. In the great and whole an excellent album and one money-making for the 80s. Could have sounded better for my taste, however, if the guys took more time and energy on the song quality.
